Texas foreclosures are up 22% in January

RealtyTrac published its latest report which includes the Texas housing market. Statewide there were a total of 14,987 foreclosure filings in January, up 22% from the same month in 2010. Foreclosure filings are still above 1,000 per month in Bexar County

Texas Mall prevents foreclosure by filing for bankruptcy protection

A Colleyville, Texas mall developer filed for bankruptcy protection after it lost control of millions of dollars worth property. When filing for bankruptcy Rland Properties cited assets between $10 million and $93 million, along with liabilities between $5 million and $27 million.
